Pre-application meeting

If you think you require resource consent but need more information about the process, please contact our Customer Services Officer for Planning. The Customer Service Officer will help you decide if you require a pre-planning meeting and arrange for you to meet with one of the planners and or any other units where consent may be required.

During the pre-planning meeting a member of the Planning Unit can look over your proposal and discuss some of the things you will need to consider when preparing your application.

Pre-planning meetings are recommended if you are not using a consultant to help prepare your application. Such meetings will help save time and get the processing of your application off to a good start.

We allocate 30 minutes for pre-planning meetings.  Time over and above the 30 minute period will be on-charged as part of the resource consent process in accordance with Council’s schedule of fees and charges.
