Timaru District residents are advised that due to snow falling to lower levels, the following points should be noticed and acted upon:

Take extreme care when driving due to slippery conditions and risks of low visibility
Be aware that other drivers may not be able to see you clearly
Be watchful for pedestrians in low visibility situations
Be aware of possible road closures. Any road closures will be notified on the NZTA website onthemove.govt.nz
Conditions will remain very cold for some time, ensure you have adequate heating in place for your home
Check on any vulnerable neighbours or people who might need help
Monitor weather information or updates in likely changes to conditions.
