Timaru District Council is pleased to announce that Tracy Tierney has been appointed as the new Group Manager Environmental Services.
Council Chief Executive, Bede Carran, said that Tierney was an outstanding candidate for the job, bringing with her a wealth of specific experience in the regulatory field, in local government as well as in the commercial and professional services sectors.
“Tracy is a well respected councillor within the community as well as in her profession, and with her skills and experience is in a great position to help steer our Environmental services group forward in its work.
“With a great deal of local regulations being informed by legislation, it’s important to have someone with an understanding of the regulatory issues as well as having a good understanding of the commercial environment and good links within the local community.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming Tracy into the council team.”
Since Tierney is a currently a councillor, she will vacate this seat and a council by-election for the Timaru ward will be held shortly. Details of the process will be published as a public notice on the council website and in the noticeboard as soon as they are confirmed.
