People in Timaru are being asked to save the date of Saturday 19th August as the Aigantighe Art Gallery and our parks and other cultural institutions team up to light up the winter night.
Following the success of the 2016 Winter Night Lights event, the Gallery, Timaru District Libraries and South Canterbury Museum as well as the Parks and Recreation department and community partners are bringing it back bigger and better in 2017.
Aigantighe Gallery Manager Cara Fitzgerald said they are planning an evening the likes of which Timaru has never seen before.
“Last year’s event was such as success that we’ve got the confidence to try something bigger and better this year, so we’d recommend you keen the evening of Saturday 19th August free from 5pm.
“What I can say is that there will be light displays and food trucks and all the things that made the event a success last year, but we’ve still got a whole lot of surprises in store for people.”
The event will take place at a venue in Timaru on Saturday 19th August between 5pm and 9pm. More information will be revealed closer to the time.
