Aorangi Park is located in Morgans Road, Timaru and can also be accessed from Mountain View Road. It covers 13 hectares of land.
History
The first land was acquired in 1953. This fronted on to Mountain View Road. The following year the largest block of land fronting Morgans Road was acquired.
Site development began in 1970 with the park being named Aorangi Park in 1972. The stadium and netball courts were developed in 1974 with the first sportsfield the following year.
Uses
Aorangi Park is South Canterbury's major sporting park. While several sports are not yet represented it has a large variety of codes and facilities of a good standard.
The Southern Trust Events Centre caters to a number of indoor sports including basketball, netball and volleyball. It also has a fitness centre and is the headquarters for Sport Canterbury's South Canterbury office.

A children's playground is located to the northern end of the netball courts and the park offers good links for pedestrians and cyclists from west of Mountain View Road to Morgans Road and further east.
