This site has been set aside for native flora and fauna.
The central portion of the Pit Road site at Coopers Creek is a disused shingle pit previously used for roading maintenance. Much of the pit surrounds have been undisturbed with the exception of occasional grazing and the planting of some pine trees.
The pine trees have now been removed to allow native flora to re-colonise the site.
Habitats are also being improved for lizards and insects.
