Meridian Energy advises that the Aviemore Dam Road will be closed to all traffic on Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 November 2024 from 08:30 to 16:00, with a postponement day on Friday 29 November 2024 for poor weather. Please use alternative routes.

Section 7: Kurow to Duntroon

KUROW WEATHER

Due to recent weather the Waitaki River has shifted toward the trail between Otiake River and Otekaieke River, causing a short stretch to become sodden. We are working on a solution but in the meantime you may need to walk your bikes through.

ECan will conduct a wallaby search and control operation along the southern side of the Waitaki River (Kurow to Borton's Ponds) from 11th to 29th November 2024, using firearms and dogs. Kindly follow all signage and staff instructions for safety.

Please be advised that Aviemore Irrigation is doing some work to repair the creek banks at the west entrance of Oamaru Public Gardens, which have been affected by increased erosion from recent rains. Please follow all onsite instructions for alternative A2O routes.
