FURTHER NOTICE OF BY-ELECTIONS
Geraldine Community Board & Geraldine Licensing Trust

The nomination period to fill the extraordinary vacancies for the Geraldine Community Board and the Geraldine Licensing Trust has now closed. Nominations have been received from:

Geraldine Community Board (one vacancy)

  • GARNETT  Allan
  • MCKAY    Andy

Geraldine Licensing Trust (one vacancy)

  • BRAY    John
  • WILSON  John

As there have been more nominations received than there are vacancies, voting processes will be required to determine the successful candidates for both positions and will be conducted by postal voting using the First Past the Post (FPP) electoral system. Voting will open on Thursday 1 August and close at 12 noon on Friday 23 August 2024. Candidate names will be listed in random order on the voting papers.

Enrolment and Special Voting Arrangements

Residential electors within the Geraldine Community Board and the Geraldine Licensing Trust areas who are not listed on the final electoral roll for these by-elections can enrol or amend their enrolment details on the electoral roll on or before 5pm Thursday 22 August 2024:

  • Online at www.vote.nz
  • By texting your name and address to 3676 to get a form sent to you
  • By calling 0800 36 76 56 to ask for a form to be sent to you
  • By email request to enquiries@elections.govt.nz

Geraldine Community Board ratepayers who live outside the Geraldine Community Board area and who are not listed on the final electoral roll for the Geraldine Community Board by-election can enrol on or before 5pm Thursday 22 August 2024 by completing and returning a ratepayer enrolment form, available from the Timaru District Council office or website. Note that there is no ratepayer enrolment option for Licensing Trust elections.

Special voting facilities for the by-elections will be available from the Geraldine Service Centre, 78 Talbot Street, Geraldine or the Timaru District Council office, 2 King George Place, Timaru during normal office hours from Thursday 1 August until Thursday 22 August 2024 and between 8.30am and 12 noon on Friday 23 August 2024.
