Your rates bill looks a bit different this instalment. Here's why.

As you may be aware there was a miscalculation with the Environment Canterbury portion of Timaru district rating units.

The miscalculation was done for the rating year (although it was only ¼ for the first instalment in September if you pay quarterly).

In your rates bill you will have two invoices. One will have red on it; this is your amended instalment one (September) bill. We have given this to you as it shows what your credit from instalment one is.

This has automatically been credited on your second instalment, which you will see as the difference between what you overpaid in instalment one and what is due for instalment two on December 20.

If payment had been made for the full year in instalment one, a refund of any overpayment will be provided following the issuing of updated invoices.

Timaru District Council administers Environment Canterbury regional rates on behalf, so you only have one bill come to you.
