Planning & Resource Management Responsibilities
Council’s Planning and Resource Management responsibilities primarily relate to the administration of the Timaru District Plan including the –
- preparation, amendment and monitoring of the District Plan,
- processing of Resource Consent Applications, Notice of Requirements, Outline Plans, Existing Use Right Certificates, Certificates of Compliance,
- monitoring of Resource Consent Applications,
- enforcement of the District Plan and Resource Management Act 1991.
The Planning Unit is also involved in the –
- allocation and maintenance of the rural and urban numbering,
- the processing of Land Information Memorandums, Project Information Memorandums and Service Applications.
